The only thing that will make your hair "not thick" is to have it thinned by a professional. I have this done all of the time, they take a razor to it and cut small layers of your hair out. Its will thin your hair and make it more manageable.

If you want it to be smoother, use a conditioner that is really thick so that more of the oils and residue stay in your hair.

If you want it thinner, go get alot of layers and ask to get it thinned out. Otherwise try the Herbal Essences shampoo. It's called "straighten out" or something. It's in a purple bottle. It's great stuff. Also, you can basically try anything from Pantene, they are amazing.

I would suggest Redken Smooth Down Shampoo and Conditioner. And then when you style use the Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide. You can use this when your hair is wet and also when it is dry. It will protect your hair from the heat when styling and also protect it from any humidity so it won't fizz up on you. It's also has some awesome shine.

I've had good luck with Ice shine and texturize formulas by Pantene.....either one, they are very similar. Both smooth it down without making it "poofy"
