i have like super thick hair and wen i straighten it it looks good for a little while but then it gets all poofy and frizzy help!

use anti-frizz cream. make sure ur hair is completely dry be4 straightening.

OMG, I have that same problem and to add insult to injury, I had layers put it. might have to stick to braids for the summer.

Maybe get it professionally straightened? Usually other people have better techniques. Maybe ask a stylist what type of products they used when straightening your hair.

If it's really bad then you could go to the hair salon and get your hair relaxed..which will keep it straighter much longer..I have to do that to my hair to keep it straight. There's also this hair serum by john frieda call frizz-ease..which works really well. Hope this helps!

I have the same problem.....you should use tresemme products they are great! You should use the anit-frizz secret smoothing creme, or the so sleek defrizzing gel.

Try using a smothing lotion. You may even need to go as far as getting a smoothing cream from the African american section. They have hard to straighten hair too, I have used "Pink" relaxing lotion, and it worked for my thick hair. Kept me smooth and silky. Make sure you are using quality Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I like Herbal Essences "Hello Hydration". It smells coconutty, and really keeps my frizzies under controll. Dont use pantien, or garnier, they frizz you out. Also, try leaving a little of your conditioner in your hair after you shower. It will help smooth, and weigh down them frizzies!

Maybe it's your flat iron because my hair is really thick but I have a professional one and my hair stays straight all day. You could also use a straightening serum they work really good too.

MATRIX makes a great product that will not leave your hair greasy or sticky. This system has three products with it. The Shampoo and conditioner have silicone in them so it binds to the hair. Then when you towel dry your hair you use a little of the processing conditioner and take a ceramic iron over it to dry it. Even if you get a little damp it should stay shiny and straight. I have very curly hair that just gets frizzy or greasy with other products.

I have the exact poofy,frizzy hair. But I have an idea and it might help you.I use Bio silk Silk Therapy. Just use a little and only put it on the sides and back of your hair.Don't rub it in just glide your hands over the back and sides of your hair.When I use iton my bangs I find that my bangs look greasier than normal. Of course use the gel/frizz product. My stylist Say's the number 1 complaint from women is..".can we say it all together."... Frizz.
