Keep it braided and moisturized. I wouldn't put any weave in it, just natural braids. If you like to wear wigs, that would be perfect, because you can keep your hair freshly braided up under the wig, and no one would ever know.
If you don't wear wigs, then you might want to get cornrows braided into a nice style, maybe straight back into a bun or something.
Like I said before, the most important things is to keep it moisturized, and do not add any chemicals or anything to it. No perms, no weave glue, no hair gel, no hair spray, etc...

I am soo glad you asked this question. Ok, first of all do every two week deep conditioning oil. And thoroughly deep condition your scalp. Use Mr.Miracle products for they are the most effective and fastest out there. Try Africa's Best oils and greases. EVERY NIGHT wrap your hair. When wrapping, just "scoosh" hair up in a pattern and place a scarf on it. Try to get perms every 6 months if needed. Wash your hair if too many greases get in it, and do not use gel if possible. (Only on those tough edges NO black person can get out down) Hope I could help

Everybody here has great advice but when I got my hair extensions out I had no clue how to manage my real hair. I found this forum called Black Hair Media forum and they gave great advice on how to treat our hair type. They answer everything from shampoos/conditioners, flat irons and natural herbal things we can put in our hair. They have it all. Here is the website http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/default....
I hope this was helpful and you are not the only one in the struggle for wanting beautiful and healthy hair! :)
