How do i keep my hair from not going poofy in the humidity after straightening it?! my hair is natur

the best thing i can suggest is hair sirum. try getting freez ease by john freeda or the biosilk one (Thats the one i use). its very hard to not make it frizz and poof in the humidity, like you i have thick hair and i can straighten it til its perfect in the morning but the second i step outside to go to work -POOF!- my hair is up for the rest of the day. i hope you figure something out! do try the hair sirum though, it does help.

bring a personal hair stylist with you at all times. ive had the same problem my whole life. if you cant afford that then cut it all off. thats what i did. i went for the whole halle hair cut.

I have the same kind of hair. What I do is this. After I wash my hair I towel dry it very well, then I put hair oil in (I use Garnier fructise oil) and then I blow dry it all the way, then I use my ceramic straightener and the oil works for me, you just have to be careful of how much you put in you you'll have very oily hair.

First thanks you for trying to answer my question and to answer your question, well summer is hard. I usually do not straighten my hair in the summer bc i think it's a lost cause but, i have actually straightened it the last couple of days as a weird thing. I haven't gotten the results i get in cold weather but at least i have it straight. So what i do is i do it [that is my hair] and then put it in a pony tail. I rather have sort-of-straight hair on a pony tail than my natural wavy, frizzy hair on a pony. Then i let my hair down on the 2nd day [that is if you wash it every other day] when my hair has gotten the 2nd day effect. What the 2nd day does is that it makes your hair heavier and sleeker on its own oils bc it is the 2nd day after you wash it so it is in the process of getting dirty but yet it is still clean. I do that and I am usually able to enjoy my straight hair in the 2nd day at least. I recently bought this product in Sephora called Dirt by Jonathan. What it does it is that it gives your hair the 2nd day effect right after you wash it. It works, my hair is not as poofy and frizzy on the first day after i have straightened it.

This was so long but hopefully i was of some help. Good luck with your hair.
