Even something like surgury can cause thinning hair....my SIL had a gastric bypass and her hair became quite thin- partly due to dietary restrictions. i don't know of many ways to get your hair permenately thick again but you can use styling products. try treseme root lifting spray. it works really good for me and it doens't leave your hair greasy.
