for that type hair velcro rollers work better. they make them with metal on the inside now which is better for thicker longer hair; just make sure they cool completely if you use dryer.

but if you insist on electric rollers

1. make sure hair is completely dry first

2. use smoothing creme so you don't get frizzy waves

3. use butterfly clips to secure them. the clips that come with roller sets don't hold heavy hair

4. ends are tucked in AROUND the roller smoothly

5. steam rollers will make your curl fall and frizz. opt for hot rollers
