get a CHI. its a little more pricey than the basic revlon and conair brands...its about 100 or so bucks but it works so great! i have thick wavy mid back length hair and it takes maybe 15 minutes to straighten all my hair. it also stays straight until you wash it next.

i use a chi turbo it works really well on my hair which sounds similar to what your hair is like. if you get it i hope it works =)

Sedu works very very well i think i have the same hair as you. I have looong wavy/curly hair and it's very fast and my hair can stays straight for days. I highly recommend it.

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons, including Sedu, HAI, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss GHD, T3, Kenta etc.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, GHD. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: CHI, HAI, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.
