I have the same problem, heres a few tips: Hair extensions (real or clip on), thickening shampoo/conditioner, not brushing her hair when wet or using too much heat to damage the hair. Being healthy in general is key.If you smoke, dont exercise and eat junk food its going to show in your hair and skin. Also try Nourkrin, its a herbal remedy, a little expensive but its made a bit of an improvement with me, not amazing, but its still an improvement!! As for styling, blow drying your hair upside down is great to make it look thicker. Next time shes at the hairdressers, she should ask for thickening layers and a style which is going to give the appearance of thicker hair. And lastly Paul Mitchell thickening gel and product on the ends of my hair have helped me!Hope this helps!

well my best friend's sister has very thin hair too and what we have her do is when she blow dries it after getting out of the shower we tell her to flip her head over and that should give it more body. also use sunsilk volumizing shampoo and conditioner.

When I was little, my hair was thin so my mom had her stylist cut it very often, not letting it grow past my shoulders, until it got thicker. But I'm not sure if that would work on a teen or an adult, I was very young. Also, if she massages her head it can stimulate blood flow to the brain, causing more hair growth (so I've heard, no scientific proof on that though.) She could also try brushing it only when she has to, since brushing tends to pull some hairs out.

Mix Castor oil, eggs, and mayo in a bowl. But it on your hair after shampoo. Then rinse and regular conditioner. If you think its a joke look up effects of all three ingredients on hair, it's not a joke. It works.

Tell her to wash every weekend and oil her scalp very good. Then put her hair into a ponytail were ever she wants it. Then take a sock and put it into a sock ball since she obviously has long hair.

Directions:

Put hair into A ponytail.

Take two black socks and cut the toe.

Double them and roll em' till they look like a donut then slip it over your ponytail.

Use your hair and cover it over the sock and pen it down as need.

DO that for a few weeks and your hair should get thicker becuase ita grow natural withoout chemicals..

I've heard that working a small amount of gelatine through your hair while shampooing works quite well, but when I tried it it only seemed to leave a gross residue on my scalp. Give it a go, anyway.

If she literally has tried everything, she may want to go to a doctor to find out if she has a medical reason for thin hair. Otherwise:

-limit styling tools to gentle wide-tooth combs and brushes that will not catch hair-no curling irons or blow dryers that fry hair and cause it to split.

-only wash hair 2-3x a week with a milder shampoo, and put a strengthening conditioner on the length (not the scalp) Rinse the shampoo really well so you won't attract dirt to the scalp.

-use scrunchies and ponytail holders that do not have metal clips on them that can pinch and pull hair.

-Keep her hair up in gentle hairpieces or hair pins (see haircare websites for ideas) That way the hair isn't rubbing on rough upholstery, getting tangled in the wind, etc...

-Find out what a split end looks like, and if she is prone to having split hair, buy a ten dollar pair of hair cutting scissors and do what is called search and destroy-find split ends and trim the individual hairs that are split, so they will stop splitting.

These things help me, and my hair splits like crazy, and I have waist length hair now. I would seriously recommend she look on some hair care websites, preferably those geared for long haired people. Because hey-if the things they do help their hair grow that long and healthy, you can still use those ideas on short hair!
