Okay. So heres the deal. My hair is horrid. Its CRAZY thick, frizzy, and completely unbelievable.?

I look like the early years of hermionie granger. Its kind of weird how poofy and thick it is. apparently my only way to thin it out is by a hairdresser who says after a week its gonna look bad AGAIN. And my straightener is a magician but its still poofy when its straight. if you know what I mean. I'm hoping someone could tell me a way to get rid of the bulk and poofyness of it.

Here's the answer I always give to this question. DO NOT comb or brush curly hair when it is dry. Comb your hair while it is wet and let it air dry -- no blow drying. Combing curly hair only makes the frizzies worse.

Stop fighting your hair and learn to enjoy your ringlets. My husband loves to play with mine.

I had the same problem. I had my hair thinned by a salon, then I used conair infiniti ceramic flat iron to straighten my hair out it also weakens the curl when used on a regular basis. I also use herbal essences no more frizzies shampoo and conditioner. then I run ProVitamin/intensive anti-frizz serum concentrate through my hair. / Biologe is wonderful too also aveda.

my hair is pretty bad. referred 2 as the bush wen not straightened... lol

i find that shampoos 4 my type of hair can be useless. so i swap brands wen one runs out. i also stop an start using conditioners

i know that sounds odd and damaging but it works 4 me.

u cud try straightening it before u go 2 bed aswell, sleeping on it shud settle the poofyness

i found that thinning my hair out made it worse anyway. it wud probably be better to leave it level an dont hav it layered or thinned out

First of all, cheer up...your hair is thick and that's a blessing. Now, to take care of the of your worries, I recommend reading product reviews on drugstore.com (I don't know what I'd do without it!) and also just trying different things. People's hair is different, so a product that works for one person might not work for you....still, reading reviews teaches you what things definitey not to buy!

I currently use Loreal Hot Straight and Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner with my Solia Flat Iron. The Solia rocks, but if your hair is extra hard to manage, you may want to go with a Sedu or Omega. Just, whatever you do...don't take Conair! Be patient and have fun experimenting.

P.S.--%26gt;Do you live in a humid area? Visit weather websites to tell you about the climate in your city. The good news is, winter is approaching so things are about to get a lot less humid.

Good luck!

Try The Body Shop! Honey shampoo and conditioner, they also do an overnight rehydrating mask. Then try Define No Frizz styling cream. The ingredients nourish the hair folicals and smooth each strand. It also makes your hair really soft.

Wash your hair at least 3 times a week in ice water! This will take the bulk out after having your hair professionally thinned!

Only ever brush your hair to remove tangles just before you are going to hop in the shower to wash it. Use a cheap conditioner instead of shampoo, then use your normal conditioner as usual. When it's still damp, put some 100% aloe vera gel through it, and comb it with your fingers, and then leave it alone. Never brush it when it's dry, otherwise you'll separate all your curls and it will poof up. A bit of coconut oil is really good too. Check out this book if you can. http://www.amazon.com/Curly-Girl-Lorrain... - it's all about how to deal with curly hair.

My hair does the same thing. I couldn't find anyone to take care of my hair so I took matters into my own hands. Here's what I do...hope it works for you! I went and bought a pair of thinning shears at a local beauty supply store (about $20). I gather up the top layer of my hair and pin it up on my head. Then I take a section of hair and make a single cut with the thinning shears and then comb out all the cut hair. As I cut a section I will skip the next section of hair and repeat as I go around the bottom layer of my head. It is real easy to do and you can't really mess it up. This keeps my hair much flatter and I am very happy with it. When I start to notice it bulking up again, I just repeat the procedure. I put my hair up in pony tails too and this type of cutting has never been an issue to any type of hair style.

To cut down on the frizzies when I straighten my hair, I use a ceramic flat iron. I will put on a mixture of oil and vanilla on my wet hair and massage it in to the ends and while it is still wet, use the flat iron to straighten it. It lays nice and flat, no frizzies at all and will stay like that for two days before I wash it again and the oil mixture gives it a nice healthy looking shine.

Hope that helps!
